Back home again in Indiana

Life resumes. Classes start tomorrow. My very last first day of school. Back to work and life and responsibilities.

The last week or so has been perfect. Nearly indescribable. Nevertheless, I'm sure I'll have a series of posts doing my best to tell you what we did and saw and experienced.

Here's the trip in brief: nine days (four without electricity), five states (if you count about half an hour of driving in South Carolina), 18 miles of hiking, two Indian tacos, one ridiculous river guide named Captain Dan, too few showers, ~300 photos apiece, hordes of rednecks, 1000 references to Jesus and the fact that he is coming and/or lives, three bottles of wine including the gas station pinot noir called "Pinot Evil" and the vile UV-protected backpacker's wine "French Rabbit," and only one necessary use of two bright red ponchos.

For now:

All in all, it was perfect.

Nice, I'm happy you two got to enjoy some vacation time together. Pinot Evil...I'm guessing that is not going to be stocked by my local bottle shop...but I'm gonna look anyway.

That's quite a teaser ... I think you should make a trailer for your trip, with music courtesy of you other half.
